5 Hair Care and Styling Tips for Fall and Winter

Hello Ladies!

The days of beachy waves and air-dried hair are behind us (for now).

As we transition into fall and then winter, it's time to start thinking about how to change up our hair care and styling routines to accommodate the colder, drier weather. Here are five tips to get you started.

1. Invest in a good conditioner.

This is especially important if you have color-treated hair, but it's good advice for everyone during the fall and winter months. Look for a conditioner that is formulated for your hair type (oily, dry, curly, etc.) and that will help to hydrate and protect your strands from the harsh weather.

2. Don't wash your hair every day.

Washing your hair too often can strip it of its natural oils, leaving it dry and brittle. If you can, try to extend the time between washes to every other day or even once a week. And when you do wash your hair, be sure to use a gentle shampoo and follow up with that conditioner we talked about earlier.

3. Consider getting a trim.

If your ends are looking a little worse for the wear, consider getting a trim before the weather really takes a toll on your hair. Getting rid of those damaged ends will help keep your hair looking healthy and prevent further breakage. Plus, a new haircut always makes us feel refreshed and ready to take on the world.

4. Protect your hair from the elements.

When you know you'll be spending time outdoors in cold or windy weather, make sure to protect your hair accordingly. Wear a hat or scarf to cover your head, and if possible, avoid extended periods of time in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.

5. Pamper yourself with a deep conditioning treatment.

Treat yourself (and your hair) to a deep conditioning treatment at least once a month during the fall and winter months. This will help to replenish lost moisture and keep your strands looking shiny and soft all season long. You can either buy a deep conditioning treatment at the store or make one at home using ingredients like coconut oil or avocado oil.

By following these five tips, you can help keep your hair healthy and looking great all season long—no matter what Mother Nature throws our way. So go ahead and rock that beanie with confidence knowing that you've got this! Get shopping!...XOXO 🍁🧡🍂
