So You Want to Join a Gym...Now What?

Hello Ladies!

You've finally taken the plunge and decided to join a gym.

Congratulations! Getting healthy and fit is a great decision that will improve your quality of life in so many ways. But now that you've joined, what's next? If you're a gym beginner, the whole process can feel pretty overwhelming. Here are some tips to help you get started on the right foot.

1. Get to Know the Layout

One of the most intimidating things about going to the gym can be feeling like you don't know where anything is or what you're supposed to be doing. The best way to combat this feeling is to take a little time to familiarize yourself with the layout of the gym and all of its amenities. Do a lap around the entire facility so you know where everything is located. This way, when you're in the middle of your workout and realize you need a water bottle or a towel, you won't have to waste time trying to find it.

2. Invest in Some Good Workout Clothes

This one might seem like a no-brainer, but it's important nonetheless. Wearing clothes that are comfortable and stylish will make working out much more enjoyable (and likely to actually happen). No one wants to put on old, ratty sweats that make them feel frumpy and uninspired. Instead, invest in some workout clothes that make you feel good about yourself. You'll be much more likely to hit the gym if you're excited about what you're wearing.

3. Start Slow

If you're just getting started with working out, it's important to start slow and gradually increase the intensity of your workouts as your fitness level improves. Don't try to do too much too soon or you'll quickly become discouraged (not to mention sore). Start with just a few days a week and then increase frequency as needed. And don't forget to add in some rest days! Your body needs time to recover between workouts or else you risk injury.

Joining a gym can be a great way to jumpstart your journey to better health and fitness. But if you're new to the whole process, it can also feel pretty daunting. By following these tips, though, you'll be well on your way to becoming a pro in no time! Until Next Time!...XOXO 🍁🧡🍂
