The Office Workout: How to Exercise at Work without Breaking a Sweat
Hello Ladies!
If you're like most Americans, you probably spend the majority of your waking hours at work.
And if you're like most Americans, you also probably don't get nearly enough exercise. So what's a girl to do? The solution is simple: exercise at work! But how, you ask, can I possibly fit in a workout when I'm swamped with deadlines and conference calls? Don't worry, we've got you covered. Here are three easy ways to sneak in a little bit of exercise, without even breaking a sweat.
1. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
This one is pretty self-explanatory. If your office is more than a few floors up, taking the stairs instead of the elevator is an easy way to get your heart rate up and your blood flowing. Plus, it's great for your legs! If you really want to get things going, try running up the stairs instead of walking. Just be sure to avoid any awkward run-ins with your boss by taking the elevator back down.
2. Get up and move every 20 minutes or so.
Sitting all day is terrible for your posture, your circulation, and your overall health. So every 20 minutes or so, make it a point to get up and move around for a couple of minutes. Walk to the water cooler, do some light stretches at your desk, or take a lap around the office. Just getting yourself out of your chair will do wonders for your energy levels and your focus.
3. Use your lunch break to go for a walk or run.
If you really want to make the most of your lunch break, use it as an opportunity to get in some cardio. Go for a walk around the block, or better yet, go for a run! Getting some fresh air and moving your body will help you blow off steam and come back to work feeling refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the day.
Exercise is important for both our physical and mental health, but it can be tough to find time to fit it into our busy schedules. If you're looking for ways to sneak in a little bit of exercise without disrupting your workflow, try taking the stairs instead of the elevator, getting up and moving every 20 minutes or so, and using your lunch break as an opportunity to go for a walk or run. Just a few minutes of exercise here and there can make all the difference! Until Next Time!...XOXO 🍁🧡🍂
