How to Look Cute in Outerwear While Still Keeping Warm
One of the best things about fall is finally being able to break out all of your cute outerwear! But as anyone who lives in a place with actual winters knows, looking cute in outerwear is a delicate balance. You want to be stylish, but you also need to stay warm. Here are some tips for how to do both.
1. Start with a good base layer.
This is the key to not looking like a bundled-up Michelin Man. A fitted turtleneck or long-sleeved shirt will do the trick nicely. If you're really looking to step up your game, try layering a thin turtleneck under a sleeveless dress or jumpsuit. Trust me, it looks way chicer than it sounds.
2. Find a coat that actually fits you.
I know, I know, it's hard. Especially if you're on the taller side like me (ahem, 5'10"). But unless you're trying to go for that teddy bear/oversized hoodie look (no judgment), an ill-fitting coat is just going to make you look frumpy. And no one wants that.
3. Invest in some quality cold-weather accessories.
A cute pair of gloves or earmuffs can make all the difference when it comes to your outerwear game. Plus, they'll actually keep you warm, which is kind of the whole point of clothing in the first place.Looking good while staying warm doesn't have to be mutually exclusive! With these tips, you can have your fashion cake and eat it too...or something like that. Anyway, happy autumnal attire shopping!
